A day of sewer work at a commercial plaza in Livonia: hydro jetting the line, then scoping it with a camera.
The job
The plaza’s sewer line needed cleaning and a look inside. We hydro-jetted the line and ran a sewer camera through it on the same day.
Why main sewer lines get hydro-jetting
We hydro-jet main sewer lines. The Electric Eel is only for small fixture drains, like sinks and tubs.
A jetter pushes high-pressure water through the line. Over time, sewer lines collect grease, sludge, scale and roots on the pipe walls. Jetting clears that buildup in a way a cable machine can’t.
Why the camera comes after the jetting
Jetting cleans the line. The camera shows what condition the pipe is in, so the property owner knows exactly what they have instead of guessing.
The result
The plaza’s line was jetted and then scoped on camera, and the owner got to see the condition of the sewer.
If a camera ever shows a broken section, we can dig and repair it with our own crew. See sewer camera inspection and hydro jetting and drain cleaning.
