The job: 150 feet of interior drainage
This Macomb Township basement got a full interior drainage system along 150 linear feet of wall, designed to keep the basement dry.
Why an interior drainage system works
A full interior drainage system collects water at the footing, where it gets in, and carries it to the sump pump so it never reaches the floor.
How we built it, in three videos
Day 1: breaking out the floor. We broke out the basement floor along the walls and prepped the walls for the drainage system.
Part 2: trenching along the foundation. With the slab cut, we opened the trench along the foundation walls so the drain tile and stone could go in.
Part 3: the finished system. All 150 feet of interior drainage in place, with proper pitch to the sump.
The result
A finished 150-foot interior drainage system: clean work, proper pitch and solid protection against water coming in. The waterproofing system is backed by our 25-year transferable limited warranty. The warranty doesn’t cover the sump pit or the pump.
