The Detroit crack and cove joint, sealed with two-part epoxy.
Job at a glance
- Town: Detroit, MI (Wayne County)
- Property: home
- Service: foundation crack injection and cove joint repair
- What we did: injected and patched a foundation crack and a wide cove joint gap with industrial-grade two-part epoxy
- Date: May 2026

The problem: a crack, plus a wide gap at the floor
This Detroit basement had a foundation crack. It also had a larger-than-normal separation at the cove joint, where the foundation wall meets the floor slab.
What the cove joint is
The cove joint is the seam where the basement wall meets the floor. The wall and the floor are poured separately, so there’s always a seam there. On this house the seam had opened up wider than normal.
How we fixed it
We injected and patched both the crack and the cove separation with industrial-grade two-part epoxy. Two-part epoxy comes as an A side and a B side that are mixed right before use and cure into a hard, rigid seal.
The result
Both the crack and the cove gap are sealed. The injected crack is backed by our 25-year transferable limited warranty.
Not every wet cove joint is the same
A gap like this one can be injected and patched. But when water comes up along the floor-wall joint because of pressure under the slab, injection can’t fix that. That usually needs interior drain tile instead. We’ll tell you which one you have before we quote.
