The problem: severe yard drainage behind the house
This Imlay City home had severe yard drainage problems behind the house.
Where the water had to go
The water needed somewhere to go besides the yard. The plan: collect it with drain lines across the property, bring every line to one point, and pump it away from the house from there.
How we fixed it
Over two days, the crew:
- Trenched the property
- Installed the drainage lines
- Connected all of the lines together
- Ended the system in one sump basin at the end of the line, which pumps the water away from the house
We had company the whole time: goats, chickens and piglets. The crew was honored to work on this one.
The result
All of the drainage behind the house now runs into one connected system, and the sump basin at the end of the line pumps the water away from the house instead of leaving it in the yard.

We build yard drainage systems with our own excavation equipment: drain lines, French drains, dry wells and pumped systems like this one. Imlay City is in Lapeer County, outside our usual Macomb, Oakland and Wayne County area, and we take jobs across Southeast Michigan. See yard drainage, excavation and our service areas.
